Staff
Each of our employees has an average of 26 years of work experience in the civil construction industry, and is well-versed in all required tasks on the construction site. Further we have a Registered Civil Engineer and Registered Architect on staff to help with your design needs.
Safety
At MDI, safety is a top priority. MDI complies with all Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) requirements and project-specific safety specifications. MDI employees attend regular training sessions and weekly toolbox talks to ensure they put safety first.
MDI Today
With over 40 years of experience in major heavy civil project contracting, MDI has added commercial buildings and major site design and construction to our portfolio of projects. Our unique specialties have expanded to include concrete and wood bridges, culverts, pedestrian bridges, grinding / recycling of wood debris (forestry, pallets, etc), sheet piling walls, and deep foundations.
Our History
Miller Development began in residential construction and site development. Taking pride in seeing projects through to completion, we developed subdivision sites, constructed the houses on those sites, and subsequently sold those houses.
In 1965, Miller Development incorporated (MDI), adding civil engineering capabilities. We shifted our focus to predominantly site utility installation and bridge / dam / road construction. With this increased civil experience, MDI expanded to Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) prequalified projects.
